About abbvie This position will be the global trade compliance leader for brazil and be primarily responsible to ensure adherence by abbvie to all import/export laws in the country and the daily compliance activities. This person will not only ensure adherence with laws but drive to improve operational efficiency, and facilitate reduction of tariff and non-Tariff responsibilities:- Lead efforts to ensure all import/export transactions are in compliance with brazilian customs law through management of daily transactions and deployment/integration of internal controls- Management and ownership of the customs broker relationship/performance used for the importing and exporting of goods including on site personnel (inhouse)- Lead for any affiliates and suppliers communications to ensure their understanding of trade compliance requirements in brazil- Monitor import/export transactions and provide issue resolution over day-To- Day activities with trade partners to avoid or resolve any delays- Develop and monitor the establishment of strong partnership linkages both internally (e.G. Finance) and externally (e.G. Customs, trade associations, anvisa)- Primary point of contact with brazilian customs to address any requests for audits and inspections- Monitor trade compliance regulatory and legislative changes and alert the appropriate parties internally on the impact to the business- Develop and drive solutions/strategies to issues faced by the businesses and the necessary controls around any change- Manage and complete all activities related to the submission and monitoring of the brazil import permit processing- Lead import/export/duty management projects that focus on driving efficiencies or cost savings for the company- Develop and provide training and knowledge sharing to improve compliance and operational performance- Manage the integrity and oversight of trade data for local brazil purposes (i.E., tariff code, country of origin) and work with the abbvie gtc leadership to monitor the system in which they are maintained- Provide guidance, as needed, on documentation, tariff classification, customs valuation, and country of origin determination- Manage the capturing and analyzing of metrics associated with trade operations for reporting up to the site and the global trade compliance Requirements:- Proficient in english and spanish (desirable)- University degree in a related field (e.G. International trade, supply chain, logistics)- 5-7+ years of experience working in trade compliance, brokers agency or multinational company, or consulting firm, or logistics/supply chain- Computer skills. Must have excellent ability managing microsoft excel, power point, sap ecc. Optional: visio, sap global trade services (gts)- Knowledge of foreign trade law, customs law, tariff codes, etc.- In-Depth knowledge on import/export regulations and operational activities- Knowledge and experience with brazil customs and anvisa- Strong written and verbal communications skills- Proactive- Cross functional leadership and negotiation 5 % of the timeJob typeExperiencedScheduleFull-TimeJob level codeIcEqual employment opportunity.
