About the role what you need to know the sr marine underwriter will be responsible to assist the key brokers within our organization, to develop their individual portfolio with aig brasil. This is strategic underwriter, who shall be responsible for maintaining the current broker commitment and developing new business opportunities. Additionally this professional is a reference for the junior underwriters working within the team. The marine underwriter performs important functions: conducting account reviews, addressing underwriting concerns, managing the loss control activities, etc. Conduct new business and account renewal reviews, in marine cargo and marine liability products interact with the engineers team to define best practices for individual risks. Review location loss control reports development of risk reduction plans by reviewing loss history in order to make recommendations for risk improvement conduct and attend client and/or broker meetings participate on loss control visits or assign to an experienced and qualified vendor ensure best practices are shared across the team and implement them where necessary establish distribution framework for marine within the different branches, deliver and execute clear sales and marketing plan delivery of underwriting excellence what we are looking for excellent interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work across multiple areas of client industries & internal functions possess a bachelors senior experience in marine underwriting, marine transportation, logistics management, industrial security, or related field. Possess strong analytical skills. The individual must be able to make decisions with and without established guidelines and to provide technical support to brokers & clients. Excellent interpersonal skills and having a client focused approach. Advanced english skills proficiency with microsoft office, ability to learn proprietary software systems. Be highly motivated and work well without close supervision., customer focus, ability to deal with ambiguity, positive attitude.
