Today director of finance the role at soho house, thefinance director, brazil will be a key member of the americas financeleadership team and the latin america senior management team. Thefinance director, brazil will be responsible for all financialconsiderations of the business including, developing and leading thefinance function for soho house properties in brazil. An influentialleader and strategic business partner to all departments that cancommunicate our story, deliver service & financial partnership toother functions and third parties create culture, maximize profits,support operations and member/guest satisfaction. The scope of therole includes setting up a scalable finance outpost for new houseopenings in brazil including, but not limited to hotel rooms,membership, wellness & gym as well as all food & beverage (f&b)operations. The finance director, brazil is an ambassador for the sohohouse brand and fully embraces our ethos, can support, membership &operations staff, member and guest experience, while supportingtheoperational and strategic annual business plan by monitoring andreporting on budgetary variances, implementing cost controlinitiatives and educating local management of reports and analysisthat enable a financial understanding of the houses operations. Theideal candidate will have a sound knowledge and understanding ofapplicable laws, regulations and accounting/tax strategic planning, strong leadership qualities, possessexcellent interpersonal and communication (verbal, written andpresentation) skills with a result-Oriented approach. ?Manage allareas of the finance function in brazil, including fp&a and businesssupport, accounting and internal controls, accounts payable, bankaccount/cash management, capital expenditures, payroll, & taxcompliance (with support from americas team in nyc) ?Lead financialplanning, analysis & business support for sao paulo, including 5-Yearplanning. ?Operational and financial analysis, business casedevelopment for initiatives, and pre-Opening budgets ?Forecast andcreate budgets for wage modeling, management performance, kpireporting/dashboards. ?Model and budget overheads, variable, and fixedcosts for budgeting ?Works closely with every aspect of the businessto identify and drive the process improvement opportunities andoperational excellence, related to analysis activities, pay processes,utilizing current policies, procedures, and controls where applicable.?Research new markets and obtain comparable metrics to refine thefinancial models of potential sites. ?Ensure month-End and quarter-Enddeliverables and deadlines are met. ?Recruit, develop, and performancemanage a small local team in sao paulo including accounting, accountspayable, and payroll ?Work closely with americas, corporate controllerand accounting (ny) team to implement the group accounting system anddevelop routine/financial reporting procedures. Collaborate withfinance director based in mexico to ensure consistency, leverage ofbest practices in latam markets. ?Input into monthly, quarterly,annual commercial review packages as requested. ?Develop, implementand maintain robust systems tosupport financial planning ensuring allassumptions, inputs, and kpis are clearly documented and establishedto review with key crossfunctional business partners. ?Work withamericas corporate controller and head of procurement to implementlocal procurement outpost utilizing current policies, procedures andcontrols where applicable. ?Work with internal hr to support initialpayroll processes and group hris implementation. ?Local bank accountmanagement. ?Provide cash flow projections weekly/monthly toamericas/group team as required. ?Implement internal controls aroundtreasury process consistent with americas team. ?Establishrelationship with external tax compliance firm. Ensure all regulatoryrequired tax filings are completed in a timely manner. ?Oversee andexecute local audit requirements/deliverables in brazil to include ingroup audit. ?Ad-Hoc projects as needed on direction of americas cforequired skills/qualifications ?Must have 10 years related experiencein finance management in the hospitality sector. ?Effectivemanagement, leadership, organizational, verbal and writtencommunication skills, in english and portuguese ?Fluency in portugueseand english highly preferred. ?Able to speak effectively before groupsof stakeholders and other club employees. ?Must be highly organized,efficient and detail oriented. ?Must have excellentinterpersonal/relationship building skills. ?Must have experiencecreating budgets, forecasts, p&ls. ?A high level of maturity,professionalism, integrity, highest ethical standards and teamworkskills ?Able to operate under pressure, transitions, fast pacedenviornment ?An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, businessor related degree is required. ?Mba or other advanced finance degree(or equivalent) strongly preferred. ?Experience working with amultinational, multi-Location company is required. ?Experience workingin a publicly listed company environment and sox experience is a plus.?Effective problem solver and able to work independently. ?Experiencein hospitality preferred. ?Strong project and process managementskills. expert proficiency with microsoft office suite (i.E. Excel,word, and powerpoint). ?Experience with sage erp a plus. Physicalrequirements must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects withhands. Must be able to work on your feet or sit for at least 8 be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
