Role purpose: the purpose of this role is to manage logistics (transportation and warehouse) and indirect materials & services in brazil, being a business partner and main point of contact with stakeholders, ensuring objectives are aligned and achieved. The buyer shall develop appropriate procurement strategies aligned with global strategies to support the business in order to deliver improved value for money, reduced supplier risk where required and deliver a procurement savings plan, which exceeds targets and expectations. The buyer shall possess excellent coordination and communications skills to ensure successful execution of cross business in the short-Term the buyer will have as main priority supporting the company separation activities, dealing with vendors to renegotiate current contracts and support sap transition, tests, po creation and master responsibilities and accountabilities:implement market and supplier analysis for logistics (transportation and warehouse) and indirect material & services and participates in developing sourcing strategy aligned with business needspropose and implement buying strategies for logistics and indirect materials & services in line with all global procurement strategiescreate a saving pipeline for logistics and indirect material & services through the development of new initiativesresponsible for the local procurement of logistics and indirect materials & services at lowest costs within the framework of the buying plan and quality standards in cooperation with other functionsresponsible to forecast logistics and indirect materials & services prices as requested for budgeting and financial forecastspropose complete bidding calendar for logistics and indirect materials & services in cooperationwith stakeholderspropose selection of logistics and indirect materials & services suppliers withfocus on standardization of local and global strategiesinitiate supplier cost reduction programs and other supplier development activities for logistics and indirect materials & servicesensure local services agreements/contracts to be implementedsupport global logistics and indirect materials & services biddings/roadmaps and lead benchmarking activitiesdevelop influential and positive stakeholder relationships to ensure local and global category buy-Indrive an innovative culture of continuous improvement within the supply knowledge, qualifications and experience:the person is a self-Starter with a proven track record in strategic procurement and category management for logistics and/or indirect materials & services. With experience in building mutual relationships with key suppliers, this person will effectively establish relationships with business leaders, being the main point of contact for logistics and indirect material & services and acting as a business partner, matching innovative solutions to meet their needs. Their experience will have been gained ideally in a fast paced, dynamic industry where the emphasis is on relationships, solution benefit, meeting challenging targets and delivering business relationships:global and local function managersglobal procurement teamslocal procurement teamsglobal procurement controller and finance teamssuppliers / contractorsessential to do the job:excellent negotiation skillsexcellent communications skills and confidence working with business leaders and cross-Functional stakeholdersfluent in englishability to filter demands and prioritize properlya minimum of 5 years of procurement and/or logistics experience, preferable in a multinational corporationproven expertise in leading sourcing strategywell-Developed commercial mind-Set and supplier market knowledge across various indirect categories and/or record of working successful in global cross functional teams to serve business needs, develop a compelling selling proposition, and negotiate to win-Win contract closureexperience managing logistics and/or services categoriesstrong analytical and mathematical skillswell-Developed presentation skillsto be successful in the role:ability to succeed and thrive in a matrix global communication to successfully provide support to stakeholderstechnical market understanding of key logistics and services categories proven by demonstrable experience, supported by a bachelor’s degree and ideally a master’s degree in an appropriate disciplineexperience in successfully delivering category management in a global organisation while servicing local needssap system experienceperforming market assessments, trends and recommending mitigation action planswillingness to travel, both domestic and english is requiredcompetencies and characteristics: lominger competenciesbusiness acumenproblem solvingdealing with ambiguitytime managementaction orienteddrives for resultspolitical savvypresentation skillscomfort around higher managementnegotiatingtate & lyle is an equal opportunity employer, committed to the strength of an inclusive workforce.
