With a minimum of 10 years experience in property-Casualty insurance, including 6 years in a managerial role, the ideal candidate possesses expertise in actuarial methodologies, us standards, and a strong grasp of insurance laws and regulations. Demonstrated leadership skills and strategic thinking are essential, coupled with proficiency in quantitative analysis and communication. This role involves limited travel and encourages participation in external actuarial organizations. Key responsibilities: oversee corporate reserving processes for selected business lines, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial results. Present reserve study findings to executive stakeholders and conduct special reserve studies as needed. Efficiently manage and develop a team of reserving actuaries, fostering talent and maintaining governance and controls over reserving processes. Cultivate strong internal relationships with finance, claims, and product management groups, and collaborate externally with audit firms, reinsurers, and regulators. Participate in reserving communication meetings and engage with external actuarial organizations. Limited travel, approximately 4 to 6 trips annually. Qualifications and experience: bachelors degree or higher (preferred). Fellowship in the casualty actuarial society or equivalent through mutual recognition. 10 years of property-Casualty insurance experience, with a minimum of 6 years in a managerial role. Personal lines and commercial lines experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills, strategic thinking, and insight into emerging risks. Knowledge and technical skills: mastery of actuarial reserving and pricing methodologies. Strong knowledge of us actuarial standards, insurance products, contracts, accounting rules, and regulations. Familiarity with it systems, enterprise risk management principles, claims procedures, and reinsurance. Adherence to professional and ethical standards of the actuarial profession. Extremely strong quantitative skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively. Proficiency in excel, sql, and one of sas/R/python preferred.
