Job Description Position: Category Manager Required Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Commercial Management or related fields Experience: 3 years or more in Food Retail: Wholesaler, Hypermarkets, Supermarkets, etc. Responsibilities Develop Business Plan with category supplier under their responsibility (e.G. Investment, cost, price, deadlines, payment terms, promotional calendar, turnover, profitability), to ensure no store outages. Analyze purchasing demands of their category. Study materials such as catalogs, newspapers, media, and flyers to see what competitors are offering locally. Monitor and ensure profitability targets, price differentials, and sales are achieved actively working towards meeting the categorys performance indicators. Maintain supplier reports with performance records. Identify market trends, new products, and the need to review the companys assortment. Flag products that have poor performance or are irrelevant to the company and suggest removing them from the line. Search for new suppliers, negotiate and register them. Identify and help implement new technologies and process improvements. Administer products promoted in Marketings media. Manage the work team, selecting, guiding, training, monitoring their performance, disseminating and enforcing procedures/norms regarding the Company, work processes and the systems implemented, as well as interacting with other personnel management matters. Carry out other activities related to their role and the procedures of their work process.
