Local unit & position description: the responsibility of the tax manager is to oversee, review and evaluate the corporate tax compliance program on a local and regional level, which includes internal control procedures and policies. The tax manager ensures that management and employees comply with the rules and regulations of regulatory authorities and that corporate and company policies are being followed, provides practical tax expertise to the region, ensuring compliance and optimal tax positions and support the business on all tax considerations on contracts/of responsibility:- Manage internal and external preparation of corporate income tax and vat returns.- Managing and improving the tax reporting & compliance process on-Going (e.G. Corporate income tax, vat). Timely identification and reporting of possible exposures in tax returns.- Preparing and reviewing the calculation of the current and, if relevant, deferred tax position.- Preparing and assisting with year-End audits packages for the independent auditors.- Assuring that documentation is prepared and filed for (reclaiming) foreign withholding taxes.- Manage internal and external preparation of transfer pricing calculations, aligning with group tax department about necessary transfer pricing documentation for local and global compliance.- Monitor and review (cross-Border) proposals and contracts on their tax merits and align with the group tax department if necessary.- Ensure compliance with other tax compliance and reporting obligations- Proactively engage with operational teams to ensure appropriate consideration has been given to potential areas of tax leakage (for example, withholding taxes and the creation of permanent establishments).- Responding to ad hoc and project related questions in support of business area operational projects.- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with external tax and legal advisors, in particularly with the regions preferred supplier.- Act as main point of contact for the tax authorities, managing tax inspections initiated by tax authorities- Self-Driven with team work spirit and inter-Personal skills, taking personal responsibility for ongoing professional development- Bring oversight to the tax affairs of the region, ensuring that individual legal entity positions are optimal for the region and for the group.- Support group projects, such as the legal entity efficiency project and oracle qualifications:- Educational background within tax (ba or ma level) or professional tax/accountancy qualification- Demonstrable post-Qualification experience is a requirement, but experience working as a tax manger would be an advantage- Solid experience in a global organization, ideally an international company.- Good understanding of all key business processes across functional areas.- Willingness to understand the business model and market dynamics of the business areas- Strong stakeholder management skills, e.G. Group tax, local tax authorities, external advisors and auditors.- Competency with ms office suite of products or similar, in special excel, word and powerpoint- Fluent in portuguese- Strong written and verbal english communication skills- Desirable spanish communication skillslocal conditions applyOpportunities beyond businessOur mission is to safeguard life, property and the environment.
