We have an exciting opportunity for a freelance marine surveyor to join our team of maritime experts in our office in rio de janeiro, brazil . As a freelance marine surveyor you will perform mws and marine operational duties including but not limited to loadouts, transportation and towage approvals, documents reviews, condition, and suitability surveys on vessels. In addition, you will: act as mws (marine warranty surveyor) undertaking on site/onboard inspections. Take part in technical and procedural reviews and marine study reports covering marine and offshore projects as well as site attendance. Execute condition surveys and other inspections related to marine operations. Assess operational risks and the feasibility of marine operations by technical review of onsite specifications. Contribute to the development of the marine and offshore operations. Ensure all operations are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures, and policies. Assist and/or lead projects (as assigned by the manager) to accomplish the overall delivery of optimum solutions to customers within the timeframe, costs and quality standards established by abl and/or the client. Be responsible for delivery of quality documents within a timeline established by management and client. Liaise with clients to ensure project completion and customer satisfaction. Complete other duties as assigned or requested. The role will be based in rio de janeiro . The candidate must have the right to live and work in brazil. Flexibility regarding working hours, willingness to travel and work within a variety of time zones travel, is a requirement of the job. Good reporting skills (both english and portuguese): consistency, clarity, conciseness, grammar & spelling correctness will also be required. What we are looking for. We are looking for a self-Driven, insightful, and solution-Oriented professional with good interpersonal skills. The successful candidate can work independently and efficiently, even in high-Pressure situations. A strong team player with a proactive approach. Attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy, and the ability to prioritize work are key to success as is the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts. In addition, you will also possess the following qualifications, work experience, technical and behavioural skills: essential - Chief engineer (stcw class 1) or equivalent qualification with significant offshore related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Naval architect, marine or engineering technician qualification. Mechanical engineer. At least 5 years relevant experience within the marine or offshore industry. Experience in marine consultancy including warranty, vessel and asset inspections, audits, surveys, damage surveys and project management is a significant advantage. Good decision-Making capability with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus. Accurate reporting and the ability to deliver high quality work on time. Assertive and buoyant, forward-Thinking with high ethical standards and appropriate professional image. Well organized and self-Directed individual with strong business/commercial skills. Outgoing and pragmatic with strength of character, proactive and insightful with good management skills. Desirable- Proficiency and experience in marine and engineering consultancy to the offshore oil and gas markets. Previous experience working in a specific industry segment. Experience on ism, isps, and mlc audits. Previous shore experience from similar role. What is in it for you?
