Job title: director of human resources location: copacabana palace, A belmond hotel, brazil, rio de janeiro department: business support & corporate office employment type: full-Time job description: the director of human resources, based at copacabana palace, A belmond hotel, is responsible for the short and long-Term planning and management of the human resources and learning & development function and ensures consistency of approach in compensation & benefits, staffing, learning & development and ongoing issues related to the business units and labour relations. Some of the main responsibilities include: responsible for planning, implementing, and directing hr programs and projects to align with global hr initiatives and objectives prepare and manage the propertys hr budget and ensure management of expenses within the approved budget ensure an up-To-Date knowledge of industry developments, and monitor current trends, practices and systems to make recommendations for improvements support the company talent frameworks including performance management, development plans, succession planning etc. Manage labor relations matters with the unions assure compliance with various governmental regulations and stay informed of current legislation that impact employers ensure hr audits are completed for all business units and outstanding issues are addressed and aligned on with finance support the gm as a business partner, coaching and guiding the leadership team towards striving for excellence and talent retention. Requirements: experience in a similar leadership role in hr for a minimum of 6 years, preferably in the hospitality industry hr experience in brazil expert knowledge of human resources laws (brazilian labor law), policies/procedures, and union relations strong skills in negotiation, delegation, influencing, conflict resolution fluent in english and portuguese.
