About the role the data engineer professional is responsible for building, managing and operationalizing data pipelines in support of data and analytics use cases. Also, responsible for leading tasks such as curating datasets created by non-Technical users through self-Service data preparation tools. The ideal candidate will have the expected mathematical and statistical expertise, combined with a rare curiosity and creativity. This person will wear many hats in the role, but much of the focus will be on building out etl processes and writing superb sql. Beyond technical prowess, the data engineer will need soft skills for clearly communicating highly complex data trends to organizational leaders. Responsibilities work with data to solve business problems, building and maintaining the infrastructure to answer questions and improve processes identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-Designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes collaborating with internal clients to identify analytic requirements and devising the best possible solution(s) effectively partner with developers, operations across all business functions, finance, hr, and others to communicate findings from teams analytical insights, design tests and incorporate recommendations into business processes use agile software development processes to make iterative improvements to our back-End systems model front-End and back-End data sources to help draw a more comprehensive picture of user flows throughout the system and to enable powerful data analysis build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources build analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics develop models that can be used to make predictions and answer questions for the overall business explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability work cross-Functionally with business owners to develop innovative advanced analytics products that will increase customer experience, capitalize growth opportunities, deliver competitive advantage and improve decision making develop presentations to management inside or outside the department in order to report findings, interpret the data analysis, and make recommendations based on results develop content and train team members and end users on technical aspects, reports and dashboards act as a liaison on business intelligence and data analytics initiatives between business users and technology team work with stakeholders including the executive, product, data and design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-Related technical issues partial project management operations in order to drive all aspects of projects including: understanding business requirements from stakeholders, independently formulating analysis approach and creating hypothesis, identifying required data, preparing data for analysis, testing hypothesis, conducting analysis, presenting complex information for various audiences in simplified terms, and identifying next steps and future opportunity process confidential data and information according to guidelines be an advocate for best practices and continued learning about you required skills and qualifications bachelors degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related discipline data engineering certification is a plus experience in building or maintaining etl processes three or more years of experience with python, sql, and data visualization/exploration tools like power bi hands-On experience with php, java script and react great numerical and analytical skills communication skills, especially for explaining technical concepts to nontechnical business leaders strong interpersonal skills and team spirit ability to work on a dynamic, research-Oriented team that has concurrent projects additional information the benefits of being orange orange business was certified as one of the best companies to work by the great place to work institute from 2012 to 2015.
