Amazon fulfillment is seeking a full-Time workplace health & safety (whs) specialist to serve as a designated representative for their assigned fulfillment center (fc), coordinating and implementing all areas of the amazon global program and local regulations as directed by the leadership. The whs specialist promotes a positive culture while complying with amazon standards and maintaining a safe work environment. This includes conducting trainings and coaching associates on observed work job responsibilities- Identify and inform management of compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits.- Facilitate incident investigation process.- Maintain required paperwork to comply with amazon and regulations.- Enter incident information in internal database in a timely manner.- Perform observations and audits.- Train and assist others (area managers, team members, etc.) to complete their responsibilities (audits, follow rules, etc.).- Perform specific training as required by the manager.- May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other related activities depending on the business unit and location.- Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion.- Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems.- Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (job hazard analysis) and new equipment introductions.- Responsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.- Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:sao joao de meriti, rj, brabasic qualifications- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field required.- Experience in health and safety programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.- Knowledge of brazilian regulations (nr) and technical standards.- Advanced english and fluent in portuguese.- Experience using microsoft word in a professional capacity- Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or qualifications- Experience in emergency response- Master in safety engineering, environmental, ergonomics.- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.- Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization.- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.- Proficient in microsoft office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics.
